Lisa Utzschneider to Drive Mobile Search at Yahoo

Yahoo has appointed Lisa Utzschneider as chief revenue officer to lead the company's global sales organization. With nearly 15 years of sales experience, Utzschneider will help grow the company's search business with a focus on mobile.

Utzschneider has successfully integrated sales across Yahoo, BrightRoll, Flurry and Tumblr since she joined the company as senior vice president of sales for the Americas last year. Prior to Yahoo, she served as global vice president of advertising sales for Amazon. Utzschneider also spent 10 years at Microsoft, where she led advertising initiatives in product development, sales, and other online services.

In order to strengthen the agency's focus on creativity and innovation, DDB Worldwide's New York office has hired Bruno Oppido as head of art and Lucas Panizza as executive creative director.

Over the course of his 11-year career as an art director, Oppido has received many industry awards including a Grand Prix win this year for a film that celebrates the 100th anniversary of the first Leica camera. Oppido started his advertising career at DDB Brazil and spent the past eight years at F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi.

Panizza joined DDB New York from Santo Buenos Aires where he served as executive creative director and earned a Gold Cannes Lion for the campaign "Parents," created for the global launch of Coca-Cola Life. Before that, Panizza was executive creative director for Grey Argentina where he won the first Gold Lion for the Argentina office. Mindshare North America has appointed Devon MacDonald as chief strategy officer in Canada. With 15 years of marketing and media experience, MacDonald will lead the agency's communications planning group, working with client teams to drive strategic planning for brands including Kimberly-Clark, Tim Horton's, and American Express.
MacDonald joined Mindshare North America from digital agency 360i where he served as managing director and helped the launch of 360i's Toronto office.

Earlier in his career, MacDonald served as executive director for reBOOT Canada, a non-profit charity providing computer hardware, training, and technical support to people with limited access to technology. He was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal, an honor for Canadians who have made outstanding and exemplary contributions to their communities or country as a whole. He was also awarded the Province of Ontario Gold Service Medal.

MEC has promoted Peter Vogel from chief executive officer (CEO) for Australia to CEO for the agency's Asian Pacific operations. In his new role, Vogel will spearhead the development of MEC's framework in Asia Pacific to drive the agency's business growth in the region. He will be based out of Hong Kong.

As CEO of the Australian operation over the past five and half years, Vogel doubled the size of the agency and created sustainable business relations with major brands, including Nestlé, Netflix, Allianz, and more.

Along with this promotion, James Hier will succeed Vogel as the new CEO for MEC Australia and New Zealand.

resh-sidhu-creativedirector-2015Resh Sidhu Spearheads Virtual Reality at Framestore

Oscar-winning creative firm Framestore has named Resh Sidhu creative director for its virtual reality (VR) studio. In her new role, Sidhu will lead the VR team to use creative direction, storytelling and conceptual ideas to produce creative for clients.

Prior to Framestore, Sidhu served as creative director for AKQA London where she lead multidisciplinary teams working with brands like Xbox, Infiniti, Kraft Mondelēz and Beiersdorf. She is also the founder of Virtual Realms, an online blog on the development of creative technologies and VR innovations.

Sidhu's most recent work includes the award-winning Nissan IDx experience featuring the world's debut of Oculus VR technology.
